An outstanding pair of Large Antique Earrings with Rose Cut Sapphires in Silver Topped Gold, Vintage Mexican Oaxaca Region, pre-1950 in a Georgian Jewelry Style. These are an impressive pair of antique pearl earrings. The tops hold a lovely array of sparkling Rose Cut White Sapphires set in Silver Topped Gold, which is a traditional Georgian (Pre-Victorian) technique. From the tops dangle a most impressive blue mabe Pearl Drop measuring about 16mm x 24mm. The drop is actually composed of two genuine mabe pearls together so that they are just as gorgeous from the back as they are from the front. The blue pearls are finished in gold caps, marked 10K. The earring tops are unmarked but test higher than 10K Gold, probably about 12K as most of the jewelry of this region was made from gold between 10 and 14K. There is a post back for pierced ears. Overall these magnificent earrings measure about just under 2 inches long by about 5/8 inch wide. They are in lovely vintage condition. A truly wonderful and rare find.
