ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ANTIQUE VINTAGE MIKIMOTO PEARL NECKLACE STRAND LONG GRADUATED *TOP GRADE PEARLS SIGNED BY MIKIMOTO, GINZA TOKYO JAPAN, circa 1940-1960 . I have collected MIKIMOTO for years and have decided to place this strand up for sale. As you probably already know, MIKIMOTO is responsible for first cultivating cultured Pearls around the Turn-of-the-last-Century and is known world-wide as the top quality for Pearl production. This is an Antique strand, probably dating circa 1920 to 1960’s period, however it could be a bit earlier or a bit later. They have the most incredible lustrous glow, creamy white with a touch of pink…the luster that MIKIMOTO is known for. There are 100 Pearls in this strand (including the one in the clasp) and they range from the center approximate 7mm to about 4mm by the clasp. The clasp is composed of 10K yellow Gold and marked with the traditional MIKIMOTO clamshell mark. The strand measures about a bit over 20 inches in length and is in beautiful estate condition. It appears that they have been restrung over the years, knotted between each pearl as is traditional with MIKIMOTO; from what I understand, you can have them restrung through a MIKIMOTO retailer if you so desire. A gorgeous classic piece and it is getting very difficult to find these antique examples, especially in this length.
